Deep Hole Drilling, Gun Drilling, Honing and other Specialty Drilling Services
Lengths, depths and diameters are huge factors when it comes to drilling. For the best finish possible — free of burrs and chips — Metal Craft uses high-pressure oil to drill clean holes with diameters of 1/8” – 1 1/8” up to 36” deep. Accuracy is no exception; our drill holes are straight within .001” per inch. And our products span all industries, from medical devices to aviation to space and defense.
Wire EDM and Hole Popping
With these specialty techniques, Metal Craft accurately produces delicate parts and machines extremely hard materials. They’re also excellent for making high-tolerance pieces and complex shapes. Our wire EDM process uses a charged wire to cut through conductive materials using the heat produced by electrical sparks. Water then removes and flushes away the particles for a clean finish.

And our CNC 7-axis grinding machines can custom form rasps, drills, taps, and reamers out of almost any material to your exact specifications. We have also perfected custom-profile grinding of complex shapes, including knee implants, custom implants, trials and forms. Over the last 35 years, we have become a recognized leader in cold-plate technology. Our flux-less process is noncorrosive, cleaner, and stronger than other joining methods and the strict contamination control methods deployed throughout the process is ideal for oxidation-sensitive aluminum alloys. Welding services are a very specialized area, which is why we offer both GTAW and laser-beam Welding. We’ll recommend the best type for your needs, and our advanced technology and precise techniques result in clean, dependable welds. We’ll use the precise application to join materials of different thicknesses in a process validated and certified in accordance to AWS D17.1 and AWS B2.1.
Laser-beam welding allows us to complete welds faster and more consistently than other types of welding. Using a concentrated laser source, we’re able to make narrow and deep welds as small as 0.2mm.
In house heat treating up to 1200° Fahrenheit allows for processing of most precipitation hardened stainless steels.
Finishing, Ultrasonic Cleaning, and Passivation
From deburring and glass-bead blasting to cleaning and passivation, we’ll add the perfect surface finishes and finishing touches to your projects. In addition, we also provide ultrasonic cleaning and both citric and nitric passivation of all stainless metals. Glass-bead and sandblasting services are offered to complete the visual uniformity of your projects.
At Metal Craft and Riverside, every aspect of a project is important — even the littlest touches. That’s why we provide full-service, close-tolerance laser marking and etching services, including: rotary-axis marking, deep-etch marking and customer-defined graphics and logos.
We can etch your final product with tracking data, lot ID, part numbers or measurement information, and also offer the capability to mark computer-readable codes and visual verification within the equipment.
